Happy second Sunday in advent to all.
Today’s pics come from the fun weekend we just spent in Östersund watching the world cup biathlon opener with Thomas, Becca and David!
We had the chance to take in both the women's 7.5 km sprint (Saturday) and the men's and women's pursuit races (Sunday). It was quite an amazing spectator sport with lots to see at all times: heck - sometimes it was hard to know where to focus attention. On one side we would have skiiers climbing up a hill, getting round a tight hair-pin turn, then shooting back down, and if we turned around, we would see the skiers coming into the shooting range or down the finishing stretch.

Two Canadians started in the top 15 today for the pursuit race (Brendan Green and Zina Kocher) but alas, no top
15 finishes. Still fun to be there, red mittens on, to cheer on the Canadian athletes. Oh, and maybe a few Swedish ones too!
Being a shooting event and all, we simply had to try our hand at a little shooting (sponsored by the Swedish railway ... with a 500 kr prize for anyone who could make all 5 shots standing).
Sadly, we failed to pocket any cash winnings. All the same, Richard thinks the rifle look suits me ... not quite sure how I should take that!
As you can see - we got some snow over the weekend up in Östersund! Alas, there was no snow one the ground to great we four upon our arrival back in Gävle. Here's hoping we get some this week ... and that they start getting some in the French Alps, too ... come on snow!!!!!
