tolv

Today's photos are a flashback to late August/early September when I was working out of Uppsala  for five weeks while taking a course.

Uppsala Castle
Uppsala is about 100 Km south of Gävle, and home to Uppsala University - arguably the oldest uni in Sweden (depending on how you count - the other contender is Lund University), and certainly one of the most prestigious. It is the university from which I will receive my doctorate.
the cathedral
The 'campus' is in spread throughout the town, and I really like what that does both for the feel of the city and of the uni.

Just another building with an arched tunnel
While I found the daily commute a bit tough given amount of time it took (about 4 hours all up), it was also a delight (especially on the bright and sunny days) to make the 25 - 30 minute walk from the station up to my building (or in reverse later in the day) - both while wandering through the streets ...

... and coming through the gardens.

And now ... door number twelve!

Richard's fave to date: pomegranate and raspberry room and linen spray. That's my fruity-aroma loving man ;)
